Ben is a crook. I paid him $500 to replace a leaking chimney chase cover. The one he put on leaked on the very next rain storm. When I told him this he recommended thousands of dollars of work to replace siding on the chimney and add a vapor barrier. Afterwards I had multiple chimney and roofing companies look at it; I ultimately hired a chimney company to replace the chase cover that Ben installed. Surprise! No more leaking! The chase cover Ben put in leaked because it sagged in the middle tremendously, and the adhesive/caulk material he used was crumbling away. I have pictures of my 10-20 year-old chase cover and pictures of the weeks-old chase cover Ben installed, and they almost look identical. That is how poor the install and materials were. I have emails from Ben saying he would refund me but the check of course never came. Now he ignores me. To think he was so self-righteous when I met him talking about how other contractors give the industry a bad name. Hopefully my $500 does you some good and you find someone honest who actually stands behind his/her work.
