We have had an issue with our water heater leaking at the T&P valve recently. Replacing the T&P ourselves did not solve the issue. I spoke with Dave, at length, about our options and sent David some photos of our plumbing. It was decided that we needed to install a pressure reducer and an expansion tank. David was prompt in letting us know what would be involved, and the cost for the repairs. Being a fairly confident DIYer, I accomplished the tasks myself, based on the information that Dave was kind enough to share. The plan worked excellent! Now all of our plumbing and appliances are protected from the high water pressure in Plainfield. Dave was kind enough to listen, discuss options and possible problems that would cause this leak, all before making a sale. Dave will be our first call in the future for any plumbing needs.

Heffner Plumbing has done a few plumbing jobs in my house, and I've been satisfied with every one of them. David Heffner is very careful with his cost estimates, and makes sure to let the customer know if the costs are liable to rise before he does additional work.

Multiple Projects For An Indianapolis Homeowner | Sep 2014 | An Indianapolis homeowner that has a home that was built in the late 1930's needed help with several plumbing problems. 1. The sump pit had the washing machine, water softener and laundry tub dumping into it. Storm/ground water and gray water can't be combined. A new sump pump discharge line was installed that dumped water into the back yard and a mini lift station was installed to pump the gray water to the sanitary sewer. The drain line for the water softener also had to be rerouted overhead and run to the opposite end of the basement to sump into the laundry tub. 2. A galvanized water line that was feeding the hose bibb for the back of the house was being fed with a rubber washing machine hose. This was replaced with Pex pipe and compression fittings to include a new shut-off valve for the hose bibb. 2. The main water shut-off valve for the house was leaking and the drain valve was corroded. The packing nut for the main water shut-off was taken apart and re-packed and a new drain valve was installed. 3. The pedestal sink and faucet for the 1st floor bathroom that was freestanding was replaced with a wall mount pedestal sink and faucet. 4. The 2-handle tub/shower valve for the 1st floor bathroom was replaced with a Delta single handle tub/shower valve. 5. The kitchen sink faucet that was old and leaking was replaced with a new Delta kitchen sink faucet. | $4k | Indianapolis, IN
Carmel Navien Tankless Water Heater Installation | Sep 2014 | This customer's home is 5 years old and had a Bradford White 75 gallon gas power vented water heater. You would think that this family of 5 would never run out of hot water with this size water heater, but two of the children are teenage boys and they both take LONG showers. The father was frustrated because her was either forced to take a cold shower or wait until the water heater had recovered and more hot water was available. This Navien tankless water heater took care of the problem of not having enough hot water. | $412 | Carmel, IN
Moving A Drain Line In A Basement Slab In Avon | Aug 2014 | This customer is finishing their basement and found that the drain line for the toilet had been roughed-in too close to the shower. The concrete slab had to be jackhammered for access, the drain line dug up, the PVC drain line moved and finally, the concrete had to be patched. A labor intensive job to say the least. | $900 | Avon, IN
Twin 50 Gallon Gas Bradford White Water Heater Installation | Aug 2014 | This customer had one 75 gallon water heater and then another 50 gallon gas water heater tucked away in the corner of his basement. Both water heater were 13 years old and needed to be replaced. Both water heaters were removed (the 50 gallon water heater had to be slid out between a wall and the furnace). Twin 50 gallon gas Bradford White water heaters were installed with the piping configuration in parallel to include a thermal expansion tank and aluminum drain pans. | $420 | Indianapolis, IN
Water Heater Replacement For Northeast Indianapolis | Jul 2014 | This 40 gallon gas water heater was a mess from its physical condition to the piping that was used to connect the hot and cold water lines. The old water heater was removed and a new Bradford White 40 gallon gas water heater was installed with new hot and cold water lines, a new connection for the gas line and a new connection for the vent pipe. This was done outside of Heffner Plumbing's normal service area as a favor to a member of the Marine Corps League. | $1k | Ingalls, IN
Another Brownsburg Navien Tankless Water Heater Installation! | Apr 2014 | The customer had an AO Smith 50 gallon gas power vent water heater that was 10 years old. He had replaced the hot surface igniter 3 years ago and was having problems again with the unit not firing. He also has a teenage daughter that likes to take long showers in the morning, leaving him to always take cold showers. The old water heater was removed and the Navien tankless water heater was installed. The customer has not taken a cold shower since this unit was installed and is very happy. | $390 | Brownsburg, IN
Brownsburg Tankless Water Heater Installation | Mar 2014 | This customer had a 13 year old AO Smith power vented 50 gallon gas water heater. With 3 young children and plans on living in this home for a long time, it was decided to go tankless. | $400 | Brownsburg, IN
Brownsburg Pro Series 2400 Back-up Sump Pump System With A New Pit Lid | Jan 2014 | This customer had a battery back-up system that was not working properly. The sump pit was also covered with a steel lid that had rusted and was literally falling apart. The PVC discharge pipe installation for the sump pumps and back-up system were also a mess. And last but not least, the bottom of the sump pit was full of pea gravel and construction debris. A shelf was mounted on the wall to hold the new control panel for the Pro Series 2400 back-up system along with a surge protector for the new system. A new plastic sump pit was also installed with custom holes for condensate drain lines and the discharge line for the sump pumps and back-up system. The before and after pictures are dramatic to the trained eye. | $2k | Brownsburg, IN
Brownsburg Sump Pump and Battery Back-up System Make Over | Dec 2013 | This customer's finished basement flooded when both primary sump pumps and the battery back-up system failed. Additionally, the sump pit lid was made out of steel and was rusting out. Two new Hydromatic VA-1 sump pumps were installed along with a Pro Series 2400 battery back-up system. A new alternating panel for the primary sump pumps was installed that also includes a high water alarm. There will be no more worries about the sump pit lid rusting out with the new plastic lid that was installed. | $3k | Brownsburg, IN |
