Bracken Waterproofing

I am here helping my very close friend in Imler who discovered he had water in his basement. We reached out to get a bid on what the cost would be. Chris, the sales person came over and was nice enough, and we all got along and came in with a decent bid. As the date approached for them to come out and do the job, my friend needed more time because she wasn’t feeling well and had to tackle making room in the basement, so he called several weeks in advance to reschedule. The date finally arrived in which the job would be started, which was Monday, June 13, 2022. It was set for the morning around 10:00 am. When approximately noon rolled around, my friend called Chris but got no response. He then phoned the company in Hollidaysburg and left a message on their answering machine. Much later, Dan the owner returned the call. He said they got tied up on another job, and couldn’t make it. My friend asked why he didn’t get a phone call. Dan said he thought Chris did…no communication at all between the two of them and I. Well, Dan said we could be there Tuesday, which was the next day, and I said fine. Tuesday rolls around, and there was no one who showed up. My friend reached out by phone to no avail, and I texted Chris. letting him know no one showed up. A bit later, he responded with the word “what??”. I also mentioned in my text, that my friend was really upset that no one had called him and to please reach out to him. No one phoned him the entire day. I got a text from Chris stating that Dan said it wasn’t Tuesday, but Wednesday. Now, my friend is VERY OCD woot comes to times and dates, and I was sitting there as well when he was told Tuesday. Now Wednesday rolls around and my friend is really upset that no one had called him, and it’s now early afternoon. My friend said to me, “if they are this lax when it comes to communication, and they never show up, what would happen if after they install my basement interior trenches and something goes wrong? I don’t want them to do the job anymore!” So, my friend called Chris’ phone and he didn’t answer. He left a voicemail stating he doesn’t want them to do the work, and was firing them. No response from Chris or Dan. Thursday rolls around now, and a truck pulls up with workers who want to start the job. My friend politely walked out to the truck and explain to them what had transpired the last few days, and told them he had fired the company from doing the job. My friend gets a call from Chris. who was apologetic and said that he didn’t understand why they were being fired, but, also mentioned “this is not the first time this is happened“. Then, my friend gets a nasty call from Dan pretending that everything was normal and the installation is for Thursday. He was quite indignant with his voice raised. Why Fred told him exactly what had transpired and that no one ever responded to his voice messages. He even told Dan that he left a message on Chris’s phone the day before firing them. Dan then said, well if you don’t let my crew in today to do the job, I will take this to the magistrate because you have broken the contract. My friend then responded, “fine“. So, all I can advise any potential customer who is thinking about hiring this company, is to rethink their decision! They are nonresponsive, indignant, and who knows if there are any problems, if they would ever redo and take care of the issue.
