Lara has a pretty respectable reference that she has done beautiful work for. However, beware. After assessing my kitchen, she told me she could complete my cabinets in 2 weeks. I left the home for 2 weeks to enable her to work without anyone coming in and out. After 2 weeks, my kitchen was only sanded and not even halfway complete. There were Multiple excuses which I tried to be very understanding about. Lara always said her crew was coming but she never had more than 1 helper maybe a total of 7 days that I saw. At the end of week 4 I arrived home from work to find my cabinet doors rehung and most would not shut. Lara said she paid her worker (3) hours to hang them but I needed new hinges and I could pay him privately to rehang them. They shut prior? And why hang all doors if they wouldn’t even close? Finally, I kindly asked her how much longer it would be as it was getting extremely inconvenient and I was not pleased with what I was seeing. Lara explained that she usually had a crew and that they were not showing up as her assistant got engaged and a worker committed suicide. Lara said she never had to do the sanding or painting but only her “artwork.” I don’t understand exactly why she took the job if this were the case. Lara walked out of the job the next day telling my husband that I called her morbidly obese. (A complete fabrication) walking away with over $3,000 and leaving my cabinets a wreck and never even starting on painting the walls in multiple rooms she was paid to paint. I’ve had multiple people out to assess her work and try to complete it. All recommendations were to replace the cabinets as she sanded unevenly and had too much clumping which would be almost impossible to fix. We were also told that she only used primer and not paint. I have no doubts that she has done beautiful work in the past, but clearly that did not happen in our home and I hope to prevent anyone else from the same.
