I hired Complete Creations Landscaping. I had several portions of front yard excavated for re-sloping and extra dirt put in to bring yard height up due to natural spring, wet land and septic problems. Had a large concrete sidewalk pulled up and replaced with flagstone stepping slabs put in. Had entire front wall and side wall of house dug up to install flowering plant gardens, along with edging and mulch. Had two 20 feet planter boxes tilled and Hostas and Hydrangeas planted. Had garage side wall cleared of runaway ivy that was taking over guttering and rafters. Have had grass and weed killer put down in getting prepared for another garden to be filled and finished. Have extra flagstone set aside for future work of patio slab in front of work shed barn. Monthly maintenance plan is set up for one year. I don't have a green thumb. I've even killed a rubber tree plant and I've heard that's just about impossible. I burn hard boiled eggs! I pretty much just told Seth, the owner, "Here's my main problem, and over there I'd just like the property to be pretty." And I left everything in his hands. Whatever he wanted to do was fine with me. I've called him back out worrying over my plants and he educated me about what to look for whether a plant is just having a hard time blooming or if it's dead, showing me the coloring of leaves that tell one tale and new buds that say "I'm still alive and kicking, don't give up on me yet!" And sure enough a few days go by and there they grow. I guess a few plants were a little shy. I also found out we had a stopped up gutter that was giving way too much water onto the garden and I hadn't noticed it. I also didn't know some of the plants I bought would be more abundant next year than this year. They also educated me on why they didn't weed out certain areas I thought they would - it was because they weren't weeds. I had no idea that my husband was whacking down what could have been beautiful these past 20 years. Today I came down the steps and saw tons of orange flowers on long stems that were perennials we never gave a chance to show themselves all these years. It's nice to be educated now and nice to know I've got a landscaper who backs up his work and is as concerned about good growth as I was, even though they were all pretty much false alarms. Oh, and these guys are respectful and fun to be around. Seth's girlfriend is a beautiful Christian girl who we just adore, and one of his workers that I got to personally meet has a great sense of humor even though Seth works him like a dawg. This landscaping team is hard to beat, I'll bet. I've had estimates from the "stuffies" but I'd much rather deal with down to earth real hard working East Tennessee true-blues who are just out to do an honest day's work in a field that they enjoy. Being relaxed and having a good time in gardening is pretty much what gardening is all about. So we're happy and blessed to have discovered Seth and Complete Creations. You will be too. As a matter of fact, my husband's co-worker got Seth to do his yard too, and there's more to come.
