Was hired to lay tile floor and build curb free shower in master bath and install carpet in 2 bedrooms. After initial contact we decided to have him lay tile in our hall bath, laundry room and install hardwood in our master bedroom. The project started out with the carpet then the hall bath and then laundry room. All good up until this point. He started becoming very inconsistent in his work. He would say he was showing up at a certain time and would show up hours later if he bothered to show up at all. There was a full gamut of excuses each time. Sometimes his helper showed up when he wasn't there and he kept trying to change things that we had already agreed upon with Josh. We addressed this multiple times about his attitude and quality of work but it continued. The tile work on the floor seems decent, but the shower is very inconsistent, grout lines are messy, cuts in the niches are uneven and the pitch of the floor in the shower allows the water to run right out the door instead of down the drain. I had to go in and re-grout multiple areas where he decided to use silicone caulk instead of grout and now we are going to have to have someone come back in and rip out the floor and rebuild it we have proper drainage. All of this will be at our expense because he refuses to answer any of my texts. Moving on to the wood floor in the bedroom. It is the worst wood floor installation that I have ever seen. There are so many gaps between the boards where they didn't take the time to tap them into place and when they used the nail gun, they split the wood in so many areas that I currently have masking tape on them to keep from getting splinters in our feet. He kept telling me that this was a wood issue and not an install issue and that he had talked to the vendor where we purchased the floor and they were going to replace it. This was a complete lie. Once he bailed on us, I contacted the vendor and had to file a warranty claim only to be told that this was 100% and install issue and they would not cover the floor. That being said, I have to rip out 320SF of wood, repurchase and reinstall.......all out of my pocket. This has been an absolute nightmare. Please.......do not use this contractor!!!!
