If you want to insure yourself of a nightmare when remolding, hire Owen Galvin. We signed a contract in August of 2017. Owen said my kitchen redo should take him past Thanksgiving but be done by Christmas. That was impossible since he didn’t start till January4th. Owen got so far and then disappeared. I haven’t seen him since March. He did build the cabinets but didn’t finish putting in all the shelves. Also, he didn’t install the countertop, put up a backsplash, paint, hook up a new dishwasher, and a new garbage disposal, install a new sink, rehook the fridge up for water and ice, or attach handles for cabinets. These things are in the contract. Moreover, Owen installed new floor tiles, backwards. He used some chemical to take up the old flooring and that chemical stained the stainless steel. Owen brought in an electrician who put blue boxes into the wall that stick out and will required a new electrician to do extra work. Owen helped himself to a piece of transition that belongs to my old floor. I think he also has a Laurel Burch print when he accidently broke the glass and was supposed to replace it. Owen always said that once he started on my kitchen that is the only project he would work on. Ha!!! Do you think he’s been working on my kitchen all these months? If this isn’t enough for you, I have a list of what he did each day on the few days he did show up. Owen, and his father act like adolescents although that might be a slight on adolescents.

Owen and his father did a very good job painting our condominium; however they didn't fill in gouges' on door frames, per the contract. New granite and sinks were installed in the bathrooms. They were not sealed, so when using sinks water leaks into the cabinets below. The most important item that was not done properly was I had them make a custom wall unit to match the trim on an existing unit; when it was delivered it had no trim. What bothers me most is that he doesn't return phone calls, messages, or emails. He also ran over his time commitment by more than four weeks! I have given him more than three months to respond. NO RESPONSE! I am sorry to say we can't recommend his company to anyone!

I can't say enough about how great the experience was with this company on our recent siding repair and exterior paint project. They are without a doubt, the best home improvement company I've ever hired and I intend to use them again on multiple projects I have planned for my home. Great job guys!!! Thanks! Tom McGee

From the start I had trouble with scheduling. It seemed to me that this contractor did not respect date or time commitments as he missed several appointments without so much as a call to explain. He seemed to have a very flexible and cavalier attitude toward keeping work dates. When I complained, telling him how I felt disrespected and how I needed to know when he was going to work and when he wasn't going to work, he sent me an email calling me names - he told me I was "aggressive" and "condescending." In my opinion, the owner of this business is very thin-skinned and sensitive to criticism and he appears to have no control over his subcontractor who also didn't show up without any notice to me. Then the contractor quit before the work was completed because his feelings were hurt. We have a legal contract which requires he submit a "change order" if the work is changed, but to date, this contractor has not made any effort to comply with the terms of our contract, sent me no change order and no final invoice as I asked him to do. He has just stopped communicating with me. Very unprofessional. I would not recommend him to anyone. It's a shame because he and his Dad did a very nice job in painting my pool deck and all they had left to do was re-caulk some tile and repair 2 broken tiles. Instead of concentrating on doing the job, he chose to pick a fight with me. I hope he learns from this experience. I would like to warn anyone who hires him about his lack of humility, lack of attention to customer needs or respect for customer schedule and that the extensive contract he asked me to sign may not be worth the paper it's printed on. This contractor caused me a great deal of inconvenience and lost time in completing this project, not to mention the stress of dealing with his nasty email message. Unfortunately for him, his actions and in-actions and poor communications also caused me to write negative reviews like this one here, and on other home improvement recommendation sites.
