Decked Out & Fenced In

The floors on this project were 80+ years old. The homeowner was looking to have a rustic older look so she wasn't concerned with perfection, however, because of the state the floors were in we weren't sure at first how the project would take shape. The original floors were stained, painted, tar papered, tiled, and carpeted aside from being beaten up pretty good over the years. The finished product was far better than we or the homeowner could have imagined, with only slight staining from years of abuse. We used an Eco-friendly polyurethane on this project because Decked Out & Fenced In is always looking to go more green!!!

This project was a build-on-site 6' high solid board privacy fence. All lumber is pressure treated and instead of using a standard fence picket the homeowner opted for a more secure material in 5/4" deck boards with 2x4 cap and face boards. For this project we built a 36" x 36" deck landing off of an existing 2nd story deck and a staircase to the ground. We used all pressure treated lumber. The unconnected 4x4's are for a future railing.

This project consisted of installing a 6' high vinyl privacy fence. In addition to the fence we laid a bed of crushed stone at the base of the fence to reduce landscape maintenance for the homeowner. We also installed, at the request of the homeowner, solar light caps on every other post to give the fence a nice lighted accent at night.

This project consisted of taking up an old slate/blue rock walkway and re-using the old stones to lay a "new" walkway to save money for the homeowner. All new mortar was used and the joints we made slightly larger to account for some of the old rock we couldn't reuse.
