It's been an unmitigated pleasure to have Steve build a house for me on Beaver Island. Throughout a succession of challenges, the workmanship has been skilled and flawless, right on budget, transparently communicated monthly with a thorough but simple, straightforward spreadsheet. He's been a hard-worker, diligent and reliable, with impeccable integrity and honesty.

Over the years Steve Johnston has done a number of carpentry jobs for me and my family at our summer cottage in Harbor Springs, Michigan. The most challenging was adding a large front porch with dormer, which we now enjoy very much. Recently, he built a small back porch for an amount so low I could hardly believe it. I have often wished he lived in Rhode Island, where we spend most of the year.
