The shoe molding was a big disappointment, because it was made of paper! I have never heard of such a thing. Shame on them for doing this. I was not offered pine or oak at the time of installation. I assumed they would use proper materials and they used the least expensive to keep profit margins high. This makes me wonder what else consisted of low end materials. Recently I have had to have the shoe molding replaced in the bathroom areas and around other tricky areas where it was not installed improperly. The molding was wet, swollen and almost rotting in the bathroom. The new carpenter offered a quote to include the different materials. Wallace did not. He too was unduly surprised at the old material. What do I know about construction? I trusted Wallace to do a proper job or at least let me make the decision. This is most disappointing.
