Bushmen Landscaping

Bushmen Landscaping has evolved from the need to earn money when laid off from a local steel mill to a successful business. While being laid off in 1991 I began helping my neighbor with his painting business which also involved doing some drywall finishing. I continued to work at Standard Steel and sometimes would even be working both jobs if I was called back to work. Around 1999 I had acquired my first mowing account and my own business was born. For the next 10 years I ran more of a handyman business, doing anything that a customer may have needed done at that time. Eventually the landscaping end of the business was going so well, it took up the majority of our time and Caleb, my youngest, was taking a strong interest in it so we decided to put our focuses upon landscaping. Since graduating from High School in 2009, Caleb has taken responsibility for hardscaping projects. He has become ICPI and NCNA certified, and continues to take the lead in most of the field operations including mowing. I on the other hand have taken responsibility for estimates, sales and office work and helping in the field. Jonathan Bush Jon Bush is a family man who has been married to his loving wife since August 22, 1987. Together they have raised 3 boys and he has been an integral part of their lives and their respective interests. He has resided in the Lewistown area since 1974; when his family moved there from Milesburg in Center County. Jon graduated from high school in 1983 and went on to serve two years in the US Army where he was stationed in Fort Richardson Alaska. Following discharge in 1986 he attended Williamsport Area Community College in Williamsport Pa. After College he went on to work as a mason for a couple of years until he took a job at the local Steel Mill (Standard Steel). After 14 years Jon decided to be self employed full time as a landscaper. Jon is board member of First Area Federal Credit Union in Lewistown. Today he runs the full service Bushman Landscaping business and it goes much deeper than just mowing grass. He and his wife belong to the Juniata Master Gardeners, and the local pond club all while maintaining and yard that can be appreciated by anyone who stops by. Landscaping is not just a job it's a passion for Jon and his family. Caleb Bush Caleb Bush is a man looking forward to raising a family with his childhood sweetheart Tara, whom he recently married in 2010. Residing in the Lewistown area, Caleb graduated from Indian Valley High school in 2009. Majoring in ag/Landscaping at the Mifflin/Juniata career and technology center he has received numerous awards for Landscaping and other accomplishments. Caleb has been working in landscaping since he was 11. He is now a partner with his father at Bushmen Landscaping and has taken the lead in the hardscaping department. He is certified in interlocking concrete pavement installer with ICPI and retaining wall installer threw the National Concrete Masonry Association.
