The client enjoyed viewing a wooded area from a 2nd story patio. There was an existing path that previously had 7 path lights to illuminate the path. The path lights were removed and down lighting focused on the path while up lighting illuminated the mature trees.

The area illuminated was adjacent to the front walk that leads to the front door. We designated this area by using lighting. Down light was used to softly illuminate the drive and also the bench, which was the focal point of the space. Up lighting on the surrounding trees helped define the size of the area.

The client had a new seating wall, stone walkways, landscaping and a millstone fountain as the focal point. They wanted adequate light to illuminate the path, landscape and fountain so they could comfortably entertain and also view the space from inside the house. Accent fixtures on the surrounding serviceberry trees provided ambient light while 1 down light was used to illuminate the fountain and surrounding walk.
