Elite Tree Lawn & Landscaping

Let me start by saying that things started out great. Jessica communicated well, got me a quote within the time given and worked with me to give me a more than fair price. We discussed that the job was at my father’s house and that I was out of state, but would be handling everything due to his health. Their schedule was 2 1/2 weeks out and we agreed to the job and scheduled it. I confirmed with her the day before and was told someone would be out the next morning. That is the end of my good experience! The next day came and I get a call from my dad saying that no one had arrived yet. I sent a text to Jessica to see what the issue was. She got back to me and said that no one answered the door when they knocked so they left. In spite of the fact that I explicitly told her that she was to make sure the workers had my phone number and if there was any problem at all to call me, no one tried to call! I said fine, please let me know when we could reschedule. They never got back to me! I called everyday for 4 days, leaving nice messages asking them to please get back to me about scheduling, as the job was urgent. I finally called from my home phone (when I called from my cell it started going directly to voicemail, that’s funny...) and they picked up first ring. I was pleasant and asked when they could reschedule us to do the job. She said she’d call me back after talking to her Forman. She texted me (didn’t have the courage to call and be professional) and this is what she sent me: “ We are booked until the second week of August. When the crew went out, there wasn’t a point of contact and the property is too overgrown at this time. Daniel said our protocol was not met because of the above (absent property owner/ no directive or representative/ no signed contract/ deposit). We offer our greatest apologies but we will no longer be able to perform this job and put our best forward.” Are you kidding me? Too overgrown? You’re a tree and landscape service! But that isn’t the worst of it, they went to the property and saw the state it was in (an incredibly hot overgrown mess, I mean you couldn’t see the house!) they knew how bad the property was when they took the job! Also, property owner wasn’t absent, He just didn’t hear anyone knock. They were given a directive and contact (me! I made it very clear to call me with any problems). Contract/ deposit? They never asked me to sign a contract or make a deposit. We had an estimate for a full days work at a price that was agreed too and they scheduled the job. Never once was a contract or deposit mentioned or asked for (of which I would have gladly done, since the price was good and the job was huge and critical to get done!). What’s worse is that I wasted 3 weeks thinking the job was going to get done! I explained how urgent it was to be done, as my dad is getting citations from the city! All of this was clear and they had gone to the house and knew the condition! They just decided it was more than they wanted to deal with and just dropped us as a customer!! Look, if I had been nasty or crazy, I could understand. I was always pleasant when I called and again, until this e-mail and the day of the job, everything had been satisfactory. I would NEVER trust them to do a job!!!!!! Call someone else! If they can’t do the job they quoted and agreed to then they should have never agreed to it. Extremely unprofessional how this got handled!!!!!!!!!! Didn’t even have the guts to call me and say they couldn’t do the job!
