Would not recommend. Make them provide a copy of their current license and insurance before they do any work for you. Any work greater then $600 requires the contractor to be licensed in the State of Michigan. This is taken right from the Eaton County web site: "Never obtain a permit for an unlicensed person, it relives them of responsibility and is a violation of state licensing laws."
