TORI BLACK HOMES Tori Roy Bio……………..................................... After graduating from the New York Institute of Art & Design, Tori opened her own Interior Design Studio TORI BLACK HOME in beachside Corona del Mar in OC some eight years ago. Being from England, (she is still trying to shake off the native British accent) Tori understands European design - both traditional and modern. Tori’s work has been featured in California Homes and Coast Magazine. She has participated in Design Houses including the Laguna Design House. Tori was Appointed to the Newport Beach Business Improvement District and won a Businessperson of the Year National Leadership Award Tori is trained in Fine Art and has produced a prolific library of charcoal sketches – mostly portraits, some still life. Besides being an Interior Designer with over 8 years hands-on experience Tori is also a SoCal certified Real Estate Agent and thus able to advise clients on typically what kinds of Home Improvement projects fetch the most resale value and which do not. As a tastemaker, Tori travels internationally to source vintage furniture and Antiques, drawing from an wide range of periods and styles – Hollywood Regency, Mid-century Modern, French Provincial, British Colonial, Anglo-Indian, Minimalist Scandinavian among other styles. As Senior Designer and Project Lead, Tori manages every detail of a project, including creating Concept Design, assembling style boards, CAD floor plans, selecting color schemes, FF&E, expediting purchase and delivery, right down to final install and “unveil”. Tori understands that functionality is key to good design. Her specialty is creating designs that tell a story……. with a twist at the end!
