Tomas Tree Service and Lawn Maintenance

We hired this service to replace landscape on our property. This included removing lava rock and replacing same plus dead bushes at the side of our house and flowers/ brush around our pool. He was to put in new plants/ shrubs in the front of our home as well.He was likewise to trim the trees. He quoted $2,000.00 which we paid. However, he never finished the job. He bought maybe 400.00 worth of shrubs ( he claims it cost around 1K- which is not true and won't provide a receipt) and reused our rocks in various areas of the home. We paid him in good faith with his representation he would complete the job. Its been nearly three weeks and still not complete. Basically- he charged 2K for 20 low end shrubs. He and his son worked 6 hours and took our money and failed to do as promised. My only choice now is to sue him for a refund . Its unfortunate but he has not called back nor come to our home. He did however, cash the check.We should not have paid him in full and that is our fault but truly- what kind of business does he run? Poor consumer confidence.
