William Trahant Roofing

Two years ago, the Northeast was suffering from a significant number of heavy rainstorms and flash floods. This is how I discovered my roof was leaking in two areas. Roofing companies were very busy that summer and I was struggling to find a quality company. My neighbor referred me to Trahant Roofing. The representative, Ken, was responsive and provided me with a quote and start time. I accepted. On the scheduled day, a crew of significant size arrived at my home and removed the old shingles, corrected a few issues, and installed the new shingles at rapid pace. It was quite impressive to watch, leaving me to wonder just how many roofs they install per day. As they packed up their trucks, I spoke with the gentleman who oversaw the crew and expressed my concern over the appearance of weather stripping under my dormer window. It was crinkled and looked terrible. I wasn’t happy and when I expressed my concern, I was told there wasn’t anything Trahant could do because that’s how the material looked after they removed it before starting the work. I was baffled and asked why they re-used a piece of material. Again, I expressed my concern and was dismissed. Two years later my neighbor noticed that my roofline and the drip edge didn’t line up with the fascia board. It appeared the shingles were lifting away from the fascia board. I was concerned that water, moss, mildew, etc. would be able to get under there and cause problems. I contacted Ken and supplied him with photos, requesting someone to meet me at my house to review that situation. I also wanted to address the dormer issue. A member of the Trahant team went to my house when I wasn’t there, and after some back-and-forth missed calls with Ken, we finally connected. He told me there were problems with moss on my chimney that needed to be addressed. I explained that my chimney was fine, which is when he realized it was the wrong house. I corrected him and he then said, “There wasn’t anything wrong” with my house. I told Ken that I wanted someone to come to my house. Since September 2023 I've asked Ken to set up a time for me to meet with someone from Trahant. For 8 months I heard, "I'll check the schedule and get back to you" though he never did. Finally, I received an email stating that Bailey Trahant would be at my house. I waited and waited... nothing. Two days later I received a call from my neighbor stating that Trahant Roofing was at my house. Conveniently, I was not informed. After they left, Ken sent me an email blaming the problem on anything other than Trahant's workmanship. He did offer me an estimate to have the problem corrected, but I declined. Why would I believe him at that point? If you're looking to have your roof replaced quickly, Trahant Roofing is your company! However, if you think they'll correct their mistakes or treat you with respect, you're sadly mistaken.
