I hired Eric’s team at Fresh Coat Painters to refinish a bathroom vanity. He came highly recommended and I found great reviews online. I did not want my vanity painted, but was told they also did staining. My oak vanity was in good condition and in a natural honey oak color. I wanted it stained darker to go with a new granite top. I did not want to take the job on myself since I felt a professional could do a better and quicker job. The first worker came on time as scheduled and to my surprise it only took him an hour to complete staining the cabinet. They “brush” the stain on since my cabinet was previously treated/stained (is what they explained to me). I wasn’t thrilled about that because brushing caused a lot of the oak grain to be “painted” over. He also did not tape around the cabinet so now there is stain on the underside of my new granite countertop. He also did not remove the doors nor the drawers while staining, instead working around them. Since the stain was brushed on (and not wiped off) it took 5 days for it to dry. So 5 days later he came back to put the top coat on. It took him about 10 minutes to do that and he left. Upon looking at the finished work, I found that in some places there were spots on the cabinet, like the stain got brushed off while he was applying the topcoat. While in other places the stain was brushed on heavy and dark. It did not look like a professional job. I contacted Eric and he came by to look at it. He agreed that it should be done over so he sent over another worker a few days later. He was able to fix the previous guys work so that it looked better. Again, after laying on the stain, he came back a few days later to put the top coat on. Before he left, I asked him for the name of the product he used, in case I needed it in the future. It was a Sherwin Williams sanding sealer. I was not familiar with it, so I looked it up online and then went to the Sherwin Williams store to inquire about it. They told me that it should not be used as a top coat but instead it is applied between the stain and varnish coats. So I bought a can of varnish and am left to finish the job myself.

Terrible. Very unprofessional and messy. Didn't protect my personnel belongings and had to hire a new contractor to fix the problems...

Very satisfied with work done repairing our deck and the interior painting.
