The Appliance Technician has been in the business since 1992 and we've seen some serious changes especially in the last 5 years. I'll leave my personal opinions to myself for now about this but modern day appliances are more like big computers that do something now days. We have spent countless hours understanding how these new machines work and how and why they break. We live and breathe appliances. That's all we do.

Frozen over LG Refrigerator | Mar 2016 | LG has a problem with the drawer glides that hold the freezer door. Well not just LG but rather most of the french door style refrigerator freezers. This had been having trouble for a long while to accumulate so much ice in it. | $200 | Covington, LA
Frigidaire refrigerator with a burned control board | Mar 2016 | This was a refrigerator that I ran into that had a completely burned up control board. I was able to get it working again within 24 hours but have to go back to replace the damaged cosmetic parts of it. Refrigerators take priority because they are so important in our lives. | $400 | Madisonville, LA
Maytag Neptune Bearing Replacement | Mar 2016 | This was a Maytag Neptune that had a bad bearing. I was hesitant to take the job on but am thankfull I did. It was a lot of work, a lot of hammer swinging and a little blood and a lot of sweat but in the end it turned out better than I expected. It did take longer than expected to get the parts in but I know where to get them from now so in the future it won't take so long. | $375 | Slidell, LA
Working with my boy | Jan 2016 | The best part of this job is the understanding of mechanics and electronics that comes with it and being able to put something together that even a baby can understand and work with. Here's some pics of me and Keegan working together on different things. The box was a dc powered 3 to 12 volt box that would run a fan, lights, a buzzer and a couple switches that he could play with and wire himself to make it work. | $15 | Mandeville, LA
Sub Zero Gasket, Drain Line, and Repaint | Jan 2016 | This sub Zero had been running a while with a clogged drain line in the refrigerator causing rust to form at the bottom and eventually the gasket was ripped to pieces. I was able to replace the gasket and sand and repaint the refrigerator almost to the point that you couldn't tell that anything was done. I was proud to see the way this came out and only took pics after the fact. I didn't take any before hand because I didn't think this job would be anything out of the ordinary. Turns out that it came out very well and made my customer's wife happy with it. | $300 | Mandeville, LA
Direct Drive Whirlpool Washer | Nov 2015 | Not everything I work on is pretty, or nice, or in great shape, but everything that was built well deserves respect. This is a true direct drive washer, a tried and true design that has lasted over 30 years. This one was a simple repair as most of them are. Although it looks horrible it's a work horse and will be around for another 10 years plus, outlasting anything you buy off the shelf today. | $120 | Mandeville, LA
Jenn Air Downdraft Restoration | Nov 2015 | When I arrived to look at this downdraft I found it in a complete state of mess. It had multiple valves broken, the burners didn't work, leaked gas and wouldn't light. I was able to repair it and save them from redesigning the kitchen since finding another one to fit the spot with the cabinets and the counter top was near impossible. I had to remove the downdraft, disassemble it completely, replace the valves, replace the burners, venturi tubes, ignitors and wiring to get it working again. It was a pretty big project but ultimately saved a lot of money in the long run. This is a quality piece of equipment you can't replace any longer. | $1k | Madisonville, LA
Whirlpool Refrigerator Gasket Replacement | Nov 2015 | I had a gasket that was torn to pieces that I needed to replace. When I ordered the new one it came in a box that was way too small, and it was way too distorted to ever be able to use from the looks of it. So I tried an experiment. I was able to release the memory from being folded up and make it usable again by heating it and sticking it to my refrigerator door to develop a new memory. This has become my new sop in replacing gaskets. | $150 | Mandeville, LA
Chambers cooktop (AKA Kitchen Aid) with griddle repair | Oct 2015 | I have a customer with an old cooktop who loves to have his breakfast on Saturdays. He loves his griddle on his cooktop and doesn't want to replace it because the new ones do not have a griddle option like this one does. I was able to repair it by making a new recepticle for the griddle. The old one had burned out and the plastic plugs do not last long so I had to make some ceramic plugs to fit the griddle. No problem, got it done. He's happy, I'm happy. This cooktop is over 40 years old in my best estimate and is still going strong. | $200 | Covington, LA |
