I hired them through Lowes to do a Handicap shower for my wife. Horrible. Lied to. Mike took my deposit of $1200.00. I told him, waiting for final approval. Once I received it. He was "SICK" then it was I be there next Fri. No word. Then when I told him I wanted my money. Will they only do refunds on the first of the month. On then, he said they were doing some be hotel remodel in Florida. Never would return my calls. Mailbox full. Theif. Notice other reviews much the same. Disrespectful, at the very least. Porch is shameful company. Piles layers of crap. I retired Army thought I was reasonably intelligent. I was desperate to get this done for my wife. Well, here's what I get in trying to trust. Last fall I contacted Porch for a referral for building a garage. The name I received was Jody Vance Construction. Because I am a widow and know very little about hiring contractors I went with your referral because of the Lowes name. Also you stated that you did background checks on all your referrals. Then I called the number on the referral that you provided. (512-456-3394) I tried this number a couple of times and kept getting cut off, no message as to why. I few hours later I received a text from another number that stated they were Jody Vance Construction as you can see in a copy of my text I received. From then on this gentleman Mike Voltz was contacting me from 512-456-3394 but through the text. When he first came out the quote for material which I paid for was only about 1/2 of what I would need but I brought and had on sight to start the project. After a couple days work and 2 exterior walls construction he asked for and I paid 3600.00 which was to be 1/2 of the labor cost (said he needs to pay his crew and get equipment rented). Things went down hill from there with the cost of materials going up and equipment rental he said I needed to supply (which I did and was not even used the day I rented it for). Looking back I see the guy didn't know what he was doing and just had a crew to get things started to get the deposit. The main thing is he is using your site to scam people who think they are dealing with Lowes.
