Jones- Kitchen Floor & Main Hallway

2 coats of Polyurethane over existing poly. The old poly had not been cared for as it should have, 2 coats applied and then left for 7 to as much as 12 years. Floor had seen heavy traffic and abuse. I sanded the entire room smooth short of burning into original floor stain (Cherry stained, 1" pine planks) applied 2 coats of oil based poly allowed 18 hrs and a quick scuff with 1000 grit sandpaper. The customer wished the floor to be 100% smooth. In order to have honored that request the customer would sacrifice the original finish and color, I assured them of the outcome and was given the green light to do what i know was best for the budget and for their wishes. In the end after a week of prep and finish and a week of little or no traffic, plus the materials ( sandpaper, tack cloths, brushes, applicator pad, and polyurethane) this project ended in the $2000.00 range.
