I absolutely love my new floors done by Sonnier's Flooring. Mr. Steven and his staff were polite and professional. The installation did take a little more than the time given, but I very pleased and would recommend Sonnier's Flooring.

Steve Sonnier is the most dishonest & unethical individual/business owner I have ever worked with in my entire lifetime! He tried to deceive and cheat me & my family. He did not meet timeliness, consistently failed to answer/return calls, was full of empty promises & left us hanging for over two months. He essentially abandoned the job & we were left to find another company to finish the work he started. In the end, he collected half the payment, only performed about five percent of the work & refused to give us our money back. We needed our floors sanded and refinished. We made an appointment weeks in advance. Steve failed to start our job on time; did not even bother calling to inform us; we had to call the company on our own. They refused to give us a date & time of when our work would begin—they showed up at noon a week later. As soon as he started sanding our floors, he noticed dark spots in the wood (dark spots which were extra oil deposits). He claimed our floors had moisture. He gave us two options: 1) replace our floors or, 2) place a dehumidifier in the living room for a couple weeks until the moisture was removed. My wife and I could not afford option number one, so we chose option two. Steve agreed to come by once a week to test the moisture on our floors. I purchased a dehumidifier & waited for the floors to dry (the dehumidifier more than doubled our electric bill). Steve did not show-up the first week, or the second, or the third or the fourth. We kept calling and leaving voicemails, but as always, we were ignored & we got the runaround—I’ll be there later today, I’ll be there tomorrow, in a couple of days & so on & so forth. Months went by while we lived in a house with our furniture displaced all throughout the house. We had no furniture to sit on & our kitchen was filled with couches. We had a two & a three year old we constantly had to chase after in fear of spilling food or liquids on our bare, unprotected floors. As you can imagine, it was a nightmare! Steve planned to let our floors dry-rot, or become so damaged from being unprotected for so long, that we would eventually have to replace them! We even went as far as to research products to use, but as always, he had an excuse as to why he wouldn't. Finally, after two & a half months of lies, deceits, empty promises, unanswered calls & unethical practices, we decided to get a second opinion. We had several companies give us an opinion of our floors & each one said the floors were fine. The told us that the difference in color was due to the extra oil content of each board, that the floors would be warped and buckled if they were wet. We tried contacting Steve to give him one more chance & again, he was MIA. We hired another company to finish the job (only five percent of the job was completed). I again tried contacting Steve and he again ignored my phone calls (of course he was well aware of my number at this point & every failed phone call was deliberate on his part—as in all previous situations). Finally, one Sunday afternoon, he texted me stating that he would stop by on Tuesday to check our floors. At this point, I texted him back, I told him that the floors were finished, I told him that we gave him a check for $900, plus $100 for burning our electrical panel fuse (they stuck three wires, not a plug, into our drier plug, which burned the fuse and resulted in an electrician having to fix it) & that I needed him to refund me my money. Steve replied, “work was done on your floors, we waited due to moisture, there will be no refund.” I proceeded to explain to him that his assessment of the floors was incorrect, that we received multiple second opinions stating so. He again refused to refund me my money & has yet to do so. In closing, I have on prior affiliation with Sonnier's Flooring. I have no interest in bending or distorting the truth and have nothing to gain or lose by doing so. Sonnier's Flooring on the other hand, has every interest in distorting the truth & to deny claims, as he has done so with other negative reviews on here.
