In this property we were contacted initially to only do the kitchen remodel. After the homeowner felt more comfortable and saw our work he requested that we did a complete upgrade. From new electrical meter base and panel to re wire the entire house, bathroom remodels, laminate floors in kitchen, re finish wood floors throughout, replace ceiling texture, paint inside and out, new roof, new doors, new french door in place of a sliding door. Appliance installation. The only thing we did not upgrade was the HVAC since it is working fine as of now.

McKinney interior door replacement from swing to french style.

Aug 2015

We were called to provide an estimate to replace a swing style bathroom door that was taking too much room while it was open due to the master bathroom design. The homeowners had done some research and knew that there was not a set of French style doors that would fit in the existing door frame. They asked for an estimate to remove the existing door, remove the door frame in order to widen the opening. This required to relocate a double electrical switch which required to pull permits with the city. After looking at the project, we provided a much more cost effective solution to the problem which alleviated the need for demolition, re framing and having to relocate any electrical switches. We purchased the french doors and were able to shave off half inch on each side. This allowed the new doors to fit properly on the existing door frame and there was no need to do any electrical work. We added the hinges and door hardware. This saved the homeowners about $800.00 in labor that another handyman had quoted before us. At SLM General Contractors, we are not looking to make the most profit, but to provide the most cost effective solution and services to our customers. We look at your project as if it is our own and keep your satisfaction our number one priority .
