The Homeowners Best Friend

I would give ZERO stars.... I hired this low life to build some steps for me and install some hand rails. That was in May 2025. The job was supposed to be mostly complete. On 06/04/2025 I paid for most of the work, prior to coming home and inspecting the job. STUPID of me!! I got home and what I found would be funny if not so pathetic. The steps looked absolutely awful. I could have done a better job wearing a blind fold. Unfortunately, Jim comes across as a decent and honest man. HE IS NOT HONEST!! Initially, he agreed that the job looked bad and agreed to make changes so that I was happy. I ended up having to buy more material to replace what he initially had me purchase. He came back a few more times and did some of the work, but never finished the job. Here is it 09/29/2025 and my job is still not complete. He won't answer text and hangs up when I call. He has blocked me on Facebook. He claims he is on his death bed, but sounded pretty well when I called. I also saw a picture of him posted for his birthday. I don't know if it was current, but he looked fine to me. He has been stringing me along for months claiming as soon as he is well he will finish the job....I paid him 4 months ago. My job is still not complete, and I am missing materials that he picked up, but that he has been reimbursed for. So now I have some of my materials but not all of them. I have spent a bunch of money on steps that are so badly put together. It's embarrassing. If I were him, I would close shop in absolute embarrassment, as his quality of work would be bested by a blind man. I am just so upset that I hired this absolute PIECE OF DOG SHITE! DO NOT HIRE THIS MAN, AND IF YOU DO, DO NOT PAY FOR ANYTHING UNTIL YOU INSPECT HIS CRAP WORK!! BUYER BEWARE!!!!
