I called the company that installed our AC and furnace for a tune up special for $89, both units. The tech came in, went to the basement for about ten minutes, came back with a horror list. Out system is 13 years old. Four cracked heat exchangers, blower shot, blower motor shot, some electronic part shot. He shut the gas off and tagged it with his "don't turn on or the FBI will kill you" sign. Price, fix it $5845, new lower level furnace $5885, new Ferrari furnace $7350. Wow, my son suggested calling for additional prices. So fortunate was I to call Dowdy heating and cooling. A new furnace over the phone, installed, $2800. Alex came out and after checking everything, he said, "you don't need new anything". The tag was a phony Mickey Mouse trap to scare me into all new or else. No heat exchanger cracks, I watched him do the test, no blower or motor problem, no parts. He cleaned all the dust and dirt in the blower and AC coil and charged me $275. Everything works perfectly now. He strongly advised me to keep a close eye on the filter and change it frequently. He could have easily sold me a new furnace for $2800 or even $5000. They are very honest at their own expense, trained well. Stephenie in the office is so friendly I'd like to call her everyday just to gab. If you have any HVAC problems, call Dowdy Heating and Cooling. If you call ANYBODY else, you're making a big mistake. Thanks so much for terrific and honest service. I feel guilty like I took advantage of them.

Dowdy Heating & Cooling serviced our natural gas water heater. The technician(Eric) replaced the anode and the dip tube. He did an excellent job and we're confident we can get a few more years use from our water heater before having to replace it. Well done!
