Signed contract June 9, 2018 project not complete, Contractor is a ghostMy review is to make any potential customer aware of what I have experienced these past few months with Owner, Jesse Jackson of American Home Construction. When I requested bids for the project, I provided each contractor with a sketch drawing I had created by hand. I had also received additional bids from other contractors, but Mr. Jackson seemed very knowledgeable about construction, seemed like a good person, had positive reviews, licensed contractor and was within my price range. All the right signs on why I would elect him for my home improvement project. On June 9, 2018, we executed the contract and an initial check payment written to American Home Construction for $5,070.00. The initial payment including the cost for design and permit application with the City. On July 12, 2018, construction was stopped because a permit had not been obtained to construct project. Jesse submitted for a permit that day with the drawings I had given him during the bidding process. City of Mesa did not accept the primitive drawings. Communication was minimal and I always initiated the communication through text or emails. I was becoming worried that I had made a huge mistake, because he never answered his phone and rarely returned voicemails. There has been limited communication from Jesse throughout the construction process. He has my money and I am left with an unfinished project. Signing a contract and providing funds does not mean that the contractor will do the job. This has caused increase in utilities, a water leak caused by the framers, which flooded the area and killed several plants. Very disappointed in the way that Jesse Jackson with American Home Construction does business. Having a contractor license doesn’t mean they will do the work.

We hired these guys about 10 months ago. Their quality of work is absolutely terrible. Jesse is impossible to get a hold of and his voicemail is always full. He claims this is a veteran owned company, and that is a complete lie. I need repairs done on their original work, and I cannot get a hold of Jesse or Daniel his business partner. These guys have taken our money and from my research many other innocent peoples money and delivered absolutely nothing worth our time, and loss of value to our home.

So far it has been a fight to get any work done. They are not responsive in general and are well behind. There are several major issues that are being redone due to a lack of oversight. We started the remodel in March and it is now July.
