We wanted to re-brick a small portion next to our driveway. At first, Michael was very responsive. In person he is super friendly and a genuinely nice person to interact with. The problem occurred after the job got moving and he pick up his deposit check. He was intermittently responsive, then no responses at all. Since then, Michael appears to have gone completely missing, even abandoning equipment at out house, leaving a hole next to our foundation that is pooling water and leaking into our basement. The original quote that Michael gave us, was the 2nd lowest we received. Although not the lowest, we decided to work with Michael because of his responsiveness. Michael had issues fulfilling on the original quote because of what I believe was a genuine accident -- a misunderstanding about Brick-Prices. He resolved the issue by telling us that he called multiple brick yards, to find a better quote. In hind site, I believe he called multiple brick yards, but when I pushed Michael on the specifics of his new brick supplier, the answers were vague, and a delivery time for the bricks never materialized... Giving Michael the benefit of the doubt and blaming un-reliable brick yards. I found the needed quantity of cheap used bricks on classified ad for Michael to use. I was happy for Michael to increase his margins on the job by using the bricks, and I was more happy that the job would avoid delays. I asked Michael when he wanted to pick up the Bricks, and he told me a Date and a Time that I relayed to the Seller. The day before Michael was to pick up the bricks, and the day of the pickup, Michael because unresponsive. (The poor woman who was selling the bricks took a day off of work to meet us too) Michael provided us with two valid excuses; the first was a need to help a family business, and the second was a family medical issue. What was unacceptable, was that Michael then stoped responding to all of my messages for over a week. When I finally asked for my deposit back, as we were now outside the scope of our agreement and timeline, Michael re-surfaced, but only to pickup his equipment, and without any notice to us. Unfortunately, our car was parked in our driveway, unintentionally blocking access of Michael's trailer to the street, preventing Michael from moving this stuff off our property, which now, three weeks later, is still sitting there... Eventually the equipment was picked by Michael so that we could hire a new Crew. Michael finally agreed to refund our deposit, but now 6 months later we still have not gotten our money back. I believe Michael has good intentions, but those do not always materialize. This has not been a good experience.
