Reliant Installation

Beyond “bad,” service; an absolute scam. They were supposed to be third-party delivery/installation/haul away for a dishwasher purchased at Best Buy. When they arrived, the driver stated they would need an additional $100 dollars (on top of $250+ in fees for all of this paid to Best Buy). When I complained, they put me on the phone with Helen, who is apparently the boss (305.968.4393). I complained to her. She said they wouldn’t install or haul away without the additional charge. I said I thought this was a rip off but that I had little choice but to pay as I needed the job done. I told her that I planned to lodge a complaint with Best Buy and asked her the name and address of her company, so I could make the report. She said, “I can’t tell you that.” I told her that was no problem, as it turned out, since her installers were both wearing t-shirts with the company name. I repeated that I was authorizing the work to go ahead with the additional charge. Instead, Helen got on the phone with her installers and told them to leave. They left, leaving me with a dishwasher in my family room, the old dishwasher in place, and me out $180 for installation, $40 for haul away, and $35 for the install kit. When I did call Best Buy, she had already called Best Buy and said the “customer refused the installation.” A lie. [Best Buy was some help, at least canceling the fees. They stated they would “escalate” and look into Reliant.] Further action on this will follow from my end. But everyone should be warned that this appeared to be “standard operating procedure” for this company.
