I hired John Walters in May 2017 to install floors, new kitchen & bathrooms and underground pipe lining for $55k. He took abt. 60% down and the workmanship is horrible and most of the work has to be redone. John subcontracted the job - they installed the floors and did a very bad job, they are not leveled and would cost abt $5,500 to get it removed and installed again. The edges by the door frames were cut high, so there is a big gap between the floor and the framework - they try to cover the hole with grout and looks very messy and undone - very unprofessional work - I would need to get new frames for the entire house. The bathrooms, the tile work was shoty at best, the floor of the master bathroom does not have the pitch to make sure the water goes down the drain. Also, the drain is above the floor of the shower so it is difficult for the water to drain as well. The water puddles, which would cause smell and mold in the future. The wall tiles was put with cheap adhesive and was told that the tiles may fall. the wall where the shampoos are is not level. the retaining wall in the shower of the master bathroom was done poorly that the tiles are falling now and I have to get someone else to redo the entire shower because of it. In addition, the vanity was not secured to the wall and it is loose. The paint in the bathroom was not done correctly, it was messy and I have to get a painter to redo it. The hallway bathroom, the tile was not placed correctly in that it does not have sufficient grout and the spaces are not even between the tiles, it looks like a very messy job. The hallway bathroom's vanity was not secured to the wall and it is loose. They broke the top of the toilet and never replaced it, I had to buy it online. In addition, the paint was not done correctly and now I have to get a painter to do it right. They painted over some of the tile - it's a mess. In the kitchen, the pot filler was installed incorrectly. It was not secured to the wall and was not the correct pipe to handle the weight of the fixture. I had to hire a plumber $300 to get it fix. Also, the dishwasher was installed with illegal wiring done without my knowledge. I found out because when they fixed the plumbing for the pot filler, the plumber started checking the lines and saw what they had done with the wiring behind the dishwasher. I called an electrician to repair it right away to prevent any fires. That was another $300 cost. During this whole process, John Walters promised a 2-month construction period and a little after 5-months, I had to let him go because he was taking too long to finish and went silent. He was not returning phone calls or text messages or emails. He goes rouge and just gets your money and runs with it. DO NOT HIRE HIM. I know he promises the world, but believe me he does NOT deliver.
