BEWARE!!! THINK TWICE BEFORE DOING BUSINESS WITH MICHAEL D NETTESHEIM, LEGACY CONTRACTORS, OR MILWAUKEE CONCRETE DESIGN. Owner Mike D. Nettesheim also goes by the company name Milwaukee Concrete Design. He claims to have multiple crews and claims to have worked in his trade for 30 yrs. The project (Planned since Nov of 2020 with no changes) : Use our metal reinforcement materials on the string lined/measured area to finish excavating the pour area, remove 3 sidewalk squares, cut curb, re dig 3 footers from previous contractor, add stone and pour concrete slabs/footers per city standards. Condition of site before work start: drive area was already mostly excavated, it just needed a final grade with more stone put down on top of what was previously dumped from 1st contractor. Sidewalk and curb needed to also be taken out/excavated/graded. Work done: sidewalk removed, curb cut, footers somewhat dug out, some dirt removed from site. He was hired early July after our first contractor ran into internal issues and cancelled. Me and business partner tried to communicate with Mike constantly - our project needed to be done yesterday! He assured us it would be completed within a couple weeks, probably sooner. I informed him the city needed his license/insurance/bond info, which he said he had and would provide them to the city department. I gave him the name & number of who to submit info. He claimed all was set, so a few days before "work was scheduled", I gave him half of the cost ($5000), which is customary practice. Start day came and went, there was a day or 2 of rain, but nothing substantial to delay the job as long as he did. Weeks go by. We keep trying to communicate to no avail, we get false promises and more excuses: "it's raining", "my truck is broke", "problem with curb cut", "can't get concrete", etc. I was fearing the worst so I double checked checked his credentials online and contacted the city - he has not submitted the info they requested, because he has no current license/insurance for either business, isn't even an LLC. I was able to get the curb cut permit without a problem. Considering Milwaukee Concrete Design had "3 crews" and been around for "30 yrs", I found it odd to hear the excuse about the truck. I suggested Mike go and rent one. I called a few concrete suppliers, they could deliver a load tomorrow or whenever it's ordered. The couple times the "crew" actually showed up, there was quite a number of guys there standing around for the little work that was done. Since we already paid a hefty deposit, 2 months were spent trying to work with Mike to get him to complete the job. Mike was unwilling to complete the job in a timely manor as promised. After consulting with numerous concrete contractors, showing pictures before and after Mike was at property, it was estimated that work done equated to about $1000. We asked for $4000 back of our deposit, we felt that was fair, especially since the city is now involved due to right of way work still not completed. Mike's reply: "I will not be bossed around. I gave you a great price. You changed things a bunch of times, and equipment is not cheap or labor." "..the permit is going to be cancelled because I am not going to be liable for someone else's work as far as me using subs so be it I do real well if you partner wasn't such a wack job this would of worked out good luck with your project." ???? These are exact texts I received. In turn, I asked for verified receipts/statements of the work/funds that he paid out to justify the deposit($5000) I gave him. Considering he's been in business for 30 yrs, I didn't see a problem, especially since I haven't had problems being shown receipts/justification from other contractors in the past. I asked for the receipts by end of business the next day (Thur 8/25/21), he said NO, I will have them to you by Friday. I never received receipts of proof of purchase. Instead I received a doctored up new style of homemade "invoice" via email stating the bit of work he did with the total cost of my deposit that was paid. Apparently I was scammed by this "contractor", a fast talker/person that came across as being "skilled". This was a very unfortunate and stressful situation. Going forward, I now research 10 fold more than I did with potential contractors to prevent this from happening again. I CCAP company owners/business, search associations as well as more of a google search for complaints and reviews than I previously did.

legacy The contractors did an outstanding job finishing my basements waterproofing. Didn't take them long at all, and I loved the price. Giovanni was very up front and honest and didn't try to just sell me anything to make a quick buck. 5 stars all day long!

Giovanni did an amazing job on my homes concrete! The price was reasonable and the job was done in a timely fashion. He knows what he's doing and was fair and honest with me. Never had any issues with him not returning calls or not showing up to work. I recommend him!
