Aloha! Thank you for visiting our profile. Joe moved to North Carolina over 17 years ago from Hawaii and started in the flooring business. After two years of working with Sherwin Williams installing flooring he decided to venture into his own installation company upon seeing the outrageous pricing people were paying when having new floors installed. For 15 years, we have been providing a low cost installation service in the Charlotte and surrounding areas. We install all wood types, carpet, tile, and vinyl flooring. Rest assured that we are a fully insured company, protecting your assets while working in your home. We offer an installation warranty for our services, so you can have piece of mind that, should a problem arise, we will promptly return and address the problem. We are homeowners as well. We know that having a safe, comfortable, and beautiful place to put your feet up at the end of a long day is important. Our pricing is upfront. We can come out and measure your home, provide you with a shopping list, offer pointers and ideas with the satisfaction of not bringing a high pressure salesperson into your home. Once you have your shopping list, shop at your convenience, compare prices, decide on your flooring and then schedule an install with us. It really is an easy, no stress, no pressure way to change the look of your home. Also know that having a professional to answer questions along the way is a useful resource. We are always here for our clients so that you don't have to second guess. Pricing is simple. DO NOT HIRE. They scheduled for 3/19 7:30a, showed up at 10a. Had most everything I own in garage, except 6 pieces of leather furniture and appliances (all 1 week new). Discussed during estimate if I should leave those boxed and in garage to install after floor install. Was told by Tina, no, have them installed. I informed Joe we were available to move furniture and appliances. He said he would do at no charge. Told him not a $ issue, do not want items damaged. He said nothing would be damaged. They completed job (902 sq ft) shortly before 2p). Impressive, No. My husband pointed out a DEEP 3 ft scratch on flooring. Joe colored it in w/ a black Sharpie pen. Told him not acceptable. He said BUT I will have to take all that up to replace (it was only @ 5ft and all had been cut to fit). We insisted, he did. My husband then pointed out a large scratch on new dishwasher and Joe took same black Sharpie and attempted to color my dishwasher, my husband stopped him. And no my dishwasher is NOT black so that did not make sense and is NOT acceptable. My husband pointed out a large scratch on three pieces of leather furniture, all on same side facing out where the 4 member team had passed by for hours scrubbing them w/ tool belts instead of pushing over a couple of feet to avoid, and yes there was plenty of room to do so. Joe then became frustrated and went outside instead of discussing. When he came back in I told him I would pay $800 (more than half the $) and the rest when resolved. He left w/o taking the $ and said "I will get my wife and be back later. Tina showed up 2 dys later w/o Joe stating ALL she could do was apologize for Joe. She then deflected by talking about, Joe was upset the day of install because my daughter lost her dog, our employee Kenny is not a good employee, is a single dad, I told Joe to fire him but he feels sorry for him, he sometimes don't show up for work. She also said Joe pays these boys by the hour and wants them to complete a job quickly, Kenny works better when he works on jobs w/ Joe. Really, as if any of that mattered to me. I then paid her the $800 and told her I would pay the other when resolved. She said she ordered a dishwasher door panel for $46 but would not be in for 3 wks. I insisted it be ordered from GE Appliances and be installed by GE to avoid voiding my warranty. It is my house, my appliance and my warranty, and the replacement should have been ordered by ME but she took it on herself. Still was not rcvd and installed until 4/6. She said multiple times she does not want to talk about the leather furniture repair. But yet she wants to talk about her personal problems and employees personal problems. She did offer this: she said they "benched" Kenny and another employee for 2 days w/o pay. As if that resolved my damages. It saved her $ but did not repair my damages. I was also told by Tina at time of estimate, the dishwasher would not be pulled out or need to be installed again, the flooring would go under up to the front feet. Well, they did pull out, then jammed back in unleveled w/ the insulation and insulation mat hanging out both sides. I had to have a local appliance store owner to adjust, level, and replace insulation and matting. I could not use the dishwasher until 4/6 for fear of leaking and ruining the new flooring. I knew if that were to happen they would do nothing, as was their track record so far. I was forced to get third party involved because of their actions or lack of. I involved my insurance company for advice. They advised to file a police report for damages and request their insurance company information which they refuse to provide. I have filed a report w/ Dept of Justice Consumer Protection and w/ the BBB and will follow advice of insurance agent in case I need to take it to court. I am not the only client to have such problems w/ them. There are others. As simple as it sounds, if Joe, the person who was in my home and supervised the team that did the damage, would have stood still, made eye contact, instead of making me talk to his back as he was walking away, and just apologized, this could have been so different. I do not know which one person actually did the damage, have never accused Kenny (don't know which one IS Kenny) but I do know as business owners Tina and Joe have bend VERY unprofessional.

Joe and Tina were a pleasure to work with. This was my first home and I was so overwhelmed when it came to changing the floors to what I wanted and understanding why other companies cost so much. Tina took the time to assist me with purchasing my carpet, and took many phone calls from me about the laminate I was desperately seeking out. Joe and his crew were clean, respectful of my belongings, and stayed on schedule (which is a dream in construction). This team is extremely knowledgeable and down to earth, and I have already referred him to several co-workers looking for new flooring. The wood laminate looks wonderful, as does the carpet in the living room, hall and stairs, and I was able to save some money. I am now looking forward to him installing tile in the kitchen soon!

Midland, NC | Jan 2014 | Joe is absolutely amazing. My husband and I contacted many companies for quotes on our floors and all were outrageously priced. Joe came out within two days and gave us a quote and even provided us a list of the materials we would need to order to complete the job. His price by far beat out the competition and was very reasonable for the 1200 sq ft we wanted laminate installed on. Burgess Flooring got back with us always within a few minutes of contact and answered any question we had. We originally were quoted a two day completion time for the project. The day before we were scheduled to start, I gave birth to my daughter and we brought her home the day they started the project. Joe and his team worked so hard to complete this project as fast as possible and completed it a 1/2 day before scheduled. They even went as far as bringing flowers to congratulate us on our new addition. The craftmanship was amazing as well....my husband (who is very picky) could not find one thing wrong with any of his work. This company went above and beyond to not only provide quality craftsmanship but to adjust to make our transition into a family as smooth as possible given the circumstances. I cannot say enough wonderful things about their customer service, their craftmanship, or the fact they are just all around wonderful people. They are certainly worth every penny and more and we feel so blessed to have chosen them to complete this project for our home and family. | $2k | Midland, NC | |
