Pat and Heather are AMAZING! There’s nothing they can’t do, and they are wonderful to work with! Highly skilled and very fair. They have been lifesavers and we don’t know what we would do without them!

Some good news and some bad news. First the good: the work Pat did on our property was high quality. He replaced a rotted roof on our outside sauna, and built a railing adjacent to our basement steps. The price was probably a bit high, but the work itself was good. And Pat is a nice guy, to boot. Now the bad: when fixing our sauna roof, Pat discovered some rot in the wiring inside the sauna roof that he was repairing. He discovered during his repair that the sauna no longer worked (despite it working before he started his repair work). Rather than stop his repair and inform me that the sauna was no longer operational and need the attention of an electrician, he continued to repair the roof, enclosing all the wiring under the repair. When, two weeks later (as we tried for the first time since the repair to use the sauna) we found that it no longer worked, we contacted Pat. He admitted that he had discovered that there was bad wiring (he even had taken pictures of the faulty wiring -- which he only then decided to share with us) and admitted that he knew at the time that the sauna did not work any longer. So, we now had a new sealed roof on a sauna that did not work, having paid Pat a significant amount of money -- but a sauna that did not work: something that Pat knew before he finished the repairs on the roof, but something he never informed us about. It seems as though he did not want to jeopardize the fee he expected for repairing the roof, so he decided not to tell us about the wiring problem or the fact that the sauna no longer worked, He finished the roof repair, and took his fee. The electrician who came later to see if the sauna could be salvaged wondered -- like us -- why Pat had decided to keep the wiring problem to himself and had gone ahead with the repair (sealing in the wiring under the new roof). The upshot of the whole ordeal is that the wiring in the sauna is not repairable, so we wasted $750 repairing the roof of a sauna that Pat knew did not work, yet he never informed us of that fact -- until we asked him about it two weeks later. Only then did he tell us that he knew it did not work and showed us the photos he had taken at the time. He had no explanation for why he kept that information to himself. So, pretty crappy judgment that showed little regard for the customer. Inexplicable, really.

Pat and Heather joined in our ongoing project after a disastrous experience with another contractor. Schnarrs Painting and Construction were recommended to us by a local paint supplier. Their approach to the projects (fixing ceiling problems, securing crown-moldings, painting, installing insulation, installing baseboard heaters and so on) was very professional and this gave us assurance that they are well experienced. They are also great team and work very efficiently together. They are kind, respectful, and honest. While working at our house, they always took an extra step to protect our furniture and leave the job site spotless. They not only fixed the other contractor's mistakes but also gave us the perfect results in a very reasonable time and for a very reasonable price. They will be in our contact list from now on for any type of work that needs a professional contractor.

I contracted with them to do multiple projects, including plaster repair of ceiling, installing bi-fold doors, minor electrical work, among other things. They completed it within the day, were professional and cleaned up well after they were done. I would hire them again if I have more projects that need done.
