Nacogdoches Sheet Metal & Plumbing

On March 21, 1963, the family business of Nacogdoches Sheet Metal Works was established in a little 500 square foot building on 205 Bremond Street with only one goal in mind: to provide exceptional quality of work and serve its community. The company had only one employee: the owner Coy Simms. He sometimes had to work throughout the night to fill all his orders which mostly consisted of manufacturing duct work for all the Air Conditioning and Heating companies in the area and other sheet metal related jobs. After about a month of quality work and approximately $1,400.00 in the bank, he quickly outgrew the small building and moved to another location at 1628 South St. Soon after that as business expanded, he moved once again to 109 Upton Street. There Coy Simms' business continued to reach out not only to the Nacogdoches residents, but also to surrounding towns and counties throughout East Texas. Coy firmly believed in "word of mouth" advertising, which proved to be true as he continued to add to his customer list very rapidly. In 1971, Coy decided to find another location with more space and to build his own building. Nacogdoches Sheet Metal and Plumbing 1972 location on NW Stallings Drive Construction started on a piece of property off of NW Stallings Dr in 1971 and was completed in 1972. Shortly after completion of the new building and more increased growth, Coy started hiring more employees. In 1973, he found an opportunity to add diversity to his business by buying a plumbing company. He acquisitioned R.F. Collier Plumbing in Nacogdoches and started on a new venture of his business. His focus was on residential plumbing service work and also new construction work. The plumbing division of his business also grew very rapidly and required more employees. In the same year, he changed the name of the company to Nacogdoches Sheet Metal and Plumbing. Nacogdoches Sheet Metal and Plumbing family In 1976 Coy Simms partnered with his brother Terry Simms, fresh out of the Navy and added yet another division to the company, Air Conditioning and Heating. Terry's main focus was to grow the Air Conditioning and Heating business. Their focus was on residentential / commercial service work and new construction. As like other parts of the company, the Air Conditioning and Heating division took off because of the quality of workmanship and customer satisfaction. In 2000 Coy Simms was ready to retire after 37 years of tireless devotion to his company. Terry Simms bought out his brother Coy and continued in the tradition that Coy laid out. During this time Terry Simms added his son Todd Simms as a partner in the family owned business and became a Limited Liability Company and changed the name to Nacogdoches Sheet Metal and Plumbing, LTD. During the next 10 years, the business continued to grow in all divisions and continued to hire more employees each year. Nacogdoches Sheet Metal and Plumbing current location still at 3804 NW Stallings Drive In 2008, Terry and Todd Simms sold to Jason and Stephanie Bradford. Even today, Nacogdoches Sheet Metal and Plumbing, LTD continues to provide the same services as it did in when it all started in 1963. The current owners are committed to ensuring that the original business goal is still the top priority: to provide exceptional quality of work and serve its community. Today, Nacogdoches Sheet Metal and Plumbing, LTD is still located at 3804 NW Stallings Dr and employees on average 45 employees.
