Save yourself the hassle. These guys are not professional and customer service is the worst

I used “Porch” in December to look for someone to do a lawn project in the spring at my cottage. The job involved removing a layer of gravel filled dirt from the front and side, placing topsoil, and seeding the area. I was interested in doing the project in the spring, perhaps in April. Saige Moyer (Moyer’s Tree Service) contacted me. We signed a contract on February 6th and he wanted to do the work then. I expressed a concern that with the warn and rainy weather it would not be a good time. Saige assured me it would be fine and the soil would settle evenly. The work was done February 7th. We met the next day for the final payment and I pointed out how the ground was not level with the road and there were deep footprints from when he walked the ground spreading the seed. In addition, he had not covered all the ground with the straw blanket. He said he would get more, and have it installed in the next day or so. Unfortunately, I accepted his assurances. The rest of the straw blanket was never installed so spring thaw and rains caused the bare area to wash out. The deep footprints and ridge of earth by the road did not settle and level out. At the end of March when I contacted Saige to make things right, he said he had gone and looked at it and his work was done just fine. He then went on to add that if I sued him, I would lose. He then went on to say he would be willing to come and relevel the dirt, but it would cost me a couple hundred more dollars. I told him I would not pay him more money. I asked to deliver the straw blanket I had paid for and he said he would. It was never delivered to me. Finally, in late April after I hand shoveled and releveled the lawn and reseeded, I texted him about a refund for the straw blanket he never installed, and he agreed to refund me $58.79. Since then I have texted him several times but have yet to see the refund. Lesson learned.
