Flori's Landscaping

We've utilized Flori's service for landscaping for the past several seasons. Always on time, on budget. Flori's level of professionalism and expertise is outstanding. Our yard is fairly large and filled with product (from ornamental grasses to scores of hydrangeas); the Flori's crew handle all of the pruning and cutting with care. Appreciated! Got a great quote from Flori a couple years ago through HomeAdvisor.com and hired him. He listened well to what we wanted and didn't want or need. He got it and did the work, all good. Last year we needed a bit more done in the yard and that went great, reasonable cost as well. This year, we needed some fallen branches from a tree cleared away. He didn't offer to do it so his guys just mowed around it. And around it and around it. Their mowing time cut way down to well do it right however long to 10-15 minutes and they were out of here. I understand sometimes it doesn't take long, but 10 minutes is not enough. And worst of all, with him not there but two new guys the first couple times, they cut the lawn so close it burned. For two years he cut it higher, not so buzzed and now brown, as he seemed to understand perfectly. I asked the guys to cut it longer, no more scalping please, just as they were unloading their mowers. After they left, I looked out and the lawn was cut so very short. Again. And the next time too, even though I called Flori twice, left two messages about it and got no response and he apparently didn't pass the word onto his guys to do what we want, the way he'd done for two summers. Odd. While I was out of town late spring, Flori told my husband he would clear away the fallen tree branches for $80, only after he was asked, still never seeming to notice the need for it and suggesting he do the work. Mowing around it as they were, time after time was creating a big circular rotted patch in the lawn. My husband took him up on that quote but Flori never came back to do the work and his Mow Joe's just kept mowing around it, time after time. After I got back home, is when I made the two calls to him that went unreturned. In the third call I asked him to please take care of the fallen branches and that I also needed some weeding this summer, a lawn clean up with bushes trimmed. He said he'd get back to me with an estimate. He never did. I called and told him, in a 4th call, to just forget the clean up, and the tree branches as it appeared he was having an "off year". Maybe next year he'd be like he was in the beginning. He never called back but came over to give my husband an outrageous estimate of $1,100. My husband told him to go away. I hope he knows we want him to stay away. Flori is exactly the same as all the other "landscapers", which he isn't and doesn't have the background to call himself one. I've lived in CA, WA, ID, WY, and CO and no where have I seen homeowners so at the mercy of these flake so-called "landscapers". It's the only think I don't like about the SouthCoast: the expectation of our community, neighbors, whoever, that we have to cut our grass to like all the others. They just mow and go, as fast as they can, on as many lawns they can dupe the owners of. In 14 summers I've had about 9 and they all go the same way, they become rude and arrogant like they are doing us a favor. Lawn care and landscaping in the Southcoast is a racket business, one big fat con after another. I get it. They think we are stupid. Right. I don't even want to give 1 star. Don't come back around ever again guy. We don't need you and I don't care what my yard looks like anymore if it is reliant on so-called "landscapers" that are anything but.

I had Flori come out and help me with my Lawn which I was having problems growing. with in a month I had my grass greener than anyone in my neighborhood. Flori also installed a fire pit in my back yard. He delivered the materials and the fire pit is a conversation starter at all of our parties. I would highly recommend Flori's Landscaping to anyone who wants someone they can trust and someone who can work hard for them.
