S & L Air Conditioning and Heating

Good company. I had another company come out to look at my unit when it stopped working and they tried to tell me i needed a whole new furnace. called S/L and they came out and said the problem was dirty evaporator coils. The got me up and running for a fraction of what i would have paid if i didnt get a second opinion. Highly recommend this talented and highly ethical crew.

I was having issues with my furnace refusing to light and was left without heat on a winter day. Jay and Mike from S & L were able to come out to my house in Bowie, MD that very same day and were able to get it running within 10 minutes. They were knowledgeable, extremely professional, and a pleasure to work with in my time of need. I would highly recommend this company! They even advised me to get my ducts cleaned. My wife and I were shocked to see how much dust was removed! Well worth the money!

My heat pump wasn't blowing hot enough, Mike came by and rewired the thermostat and installed a new electric heater kit that had been wired wrong by the last people. Quick, great service!! Very pleased!

SCAM ARTISTS!! This technician came out and did a diagnostic test of my air conditioning system on behalf of AHS. (American Home Shield) He found that I needed a new compressor and said that American Home Shield would pay for the part and installation as part of my insurance with them. He then said I would need to pay an extra $500 out of pocket for refrigerant. I paid him the $500. That is the charge I'm disputing. In late may when it was getting hot outside, I went to turn on my system and the cooling component did not work. I called a different company out to the house J & P heating and Air Conditioning. The technician they sent, Darrell, also did a diagnostic test and found that there was no refrigerant in the system AT ALL. I called Mike, to see why there wasn't any refrigerant in the system and he said that he didn't test it because you shouldn't turn the cold air on when it is cold outside. When I asked him why he didn't use the pressure guage that checks to see if the refrigerant is in the system, he said he didn't remember. I do not believe he ever installed the refrigerant and if I am not reimbursed, I will pursue legal action against this company.
