Based on reviews provided on Generac’s website, we selected Ready Power, in July 2014, to install a Generac 22 kW whole home generator. They were very patient and complied with all my requests for detailed technical information regarding the generator, connections, installation and other topics of concern. The process from initial discussions to project closure in late August 2014 was very professional. Ready Power secured all the necessary permits required to guarantee a successful generator installation. We had to receive a zoning variance from the St. Charles Parish Zoning Board because the proposed generator placement failed to comply with the Parish’s minimum distance requirement to the neighbor’s property line by 9 inches. Ready Power attended the designated Zoning Board meeting and successfully petitioned on our behalf. Ready Power was more than accommodating when I asked for specific materials of construction for conduit that would be run approximately 60 feet in the attic between the generator terminals and the electrical service box on the opposite side of the house. It did come at a small premium, which we gladly had added to the final project cost. Ready Power went the extra mile conferring with the gas utility and securing a brand new, higher capacity meter at no cost to us. Full load on the new meter is now calculated at 63% of meter capacity; previously it was at 83%. We had the Mobile Link installed and provided Ready Power with the log in information to access and view system performance on demand. Finally, the generator is exercised weekly for five minutes and recently had the annual inspection without any incidents. I would recommend them without reservation to any homeowner looking for a turnkey installation of a whole home generator.
