LMA Group converted a former doctor's Maisonette overlooking Gramercy Park into a modern two bedroom plus study home, while retaining its beautifully proportioned pre-war character. The original stained glass window was removed in sections, taken to an off-site studio, re-leaded and reinstalled. The extensive and highly detailed cabinetry was fabricated in LMA's millwork shop.

This French Second Empire style townhouse was completely gut-renovated by LMA Group. On the front facade, the brownstone stoop and surround were restored, and the brick was stripped of paint and repointed. A new interior stair, windows, rear extension, and all new infrastructure were part of the overall renovation.

As you step off the elevator into this dazzling apartment, the first thing you encounter is the dramatic floating polished Thassos stair with the skyline beyond. The light appearance belies a substantial feat, the concealed structure developed by the design and construction team to allow light and glimpses of views between the stair treads. Millwork throughout is gloss urethane fabricated in LMAs shop. While the Master Bath is clad from floor to ceiling in the purest white Thassos, three additional Bathrooms on the upper level are clad similarly in white Corian. Venetian Plaster was used extensively for its light reflectance properties, maximizing the extraordinary daylight entering the apartment through the new Hope's French doors leading to the wraparound terrace.
