We hired The Sullivan Company to renovate a bathroom on our third floor. The project came out great and on budget and schedule despite one of their crew members taking ill during the project. We plan to remodel another bathroom next year and will use them again.

I hired this company to fix the ice dam problems occurred in the winter 2014. Turned out it's a big mistake. The total amount I paid them is over $12,000 to fix 3 places: one area around a skylight, 2 ice dam problems that damaged ceiling. Paul Sullivan gave me 2-year-warranty on their work, which is pretty good, I thought originally. Jerry came for the estimation. He's a nice and honesty guy and this gave me a feeling that I found the right company. The contract is formal too. Both of these gave me the wrong impression of the company. Looking back I think the biggest problem for this company is people come and go very quickly. For example there were altogether 5 guys working on my roof, not including people that worked on the ceiling and painting inside. The first one is Tom and he left for another company after a while, and last week it was Gary. Another problem is once my project started they kept pulling people away from my project. I didn't complain much about this when it happened thinking it's not easy to run a business like this and only if they do a good work I'm ok with it. But turned out all these caused a very very bad quality of their work. See details below. They started my project in Oct 2015, and finished it June 2016. Yes, it took about 8 months! I think the main reasons why it took so long time is the bad quality of their work. They have to redo the work time and time again to fix the problem caused by their previous work, and once they found out that they couldn't fix the problem they'd claim it's not their work's problem. For example, one time after they put plaster on the ceiling in my 2 rooms in the morning, all the plaster fell off of the ceiling in the afternoon, making a mess in my rooms. They have to come another time to fix it. Another time after replacing the shingles the roof still kept leaking in the rain. They have to come again to redo the shingles. After couple of times they couldn't fix the leak themselves and have to find another company to fix the problem for them. But guess what they billed me for that! They billed me for them to having that company to help them out! I just couldn't believe it. But now it still leaks in the heavy rain couple of weeks ago. Although I was given 2-year-warranty on their work when signing the contract they told me like this as quoted: "The work by the roofer is an invoice that needs to be paid. Once that is taken care of I would be willing to send someone over with some roof tar and or caulking on an hourly basis to see what can be temporarily tied in for you but you simply need a new roof". Yes, now they told me I need a new roof. p.s. the above review was first written November 2016. I didn't release it just hope after talk the Sullivan company can come over to fix the leak. After another 3 months of talk they told me it's not their work's problem, they did everything right. I wish you could allow me to upload pictures to show how they did it "right".
