Dunmar Moving Systems originally opened its doors to the public in May 1970 in Petersburg, Virginia. The company now has locations throughout the state of Virginia. The corporate headquarters moved in May 1999 from Deepwater Terminal Road in Richmond to its present location on Whitepine Road. With non-radial intrastate authority and an affiliation with Allied Van Lines, Dunmar is capable of serving local, national and international customers. Through sister companies, Dunmar has expanded its services to include records management for the business community and exhibit services for the tradeshow industry. The company moves both residential and commercial customers and handles military traffic from Fort Lee, Langley Air Force Base and the Norfolk Naval Supply Center. Allied Van Lines continues to recognize Dunmar as one of its top booking and hauling agents. As Dunmar matured, they are experiencing a growth in their work force of second and third generation drivers, packers and salespeople. Some of Dunmar's owner-operators have been with them from the beginning, and most of the managers have 20 years plus of continuous service. Dunmar is proud of this record which not only produces an experienced team, but underlines their concern and care for employees. Ultimately, this reflects in the excellent service that Dunmar provides its clients. Today Dunmar operates 5 offices with 4 warehouse and has a presence covering the entire Commonwealth of Virginia.
