  | Miami Shores Mediterranean Revival | Nov 2014 | We needed to add a driveway along side the property, we could not have a circular or drive up alone. Taking advantage that Miami Shores allows use of the swell, we utilized that space conscientiously, but we had another challenge yet. Most all of the houses in Miami Shores have a specific style and they are historically protected. Also, due to the architectural characteristics of the house, we needed a simple paver, with soft colors that wouldn't out shine or overdo the house strong features, and it will blend with this Romanesque style per say. In the 1920s, that style popular in South Florida then, is now called Mediterranean Revival, this iconic style was influenced by the architecture of the countries bordering the Mediterranean coast, namely Spain, France, Italy and North Africa.
