Secluded Suburban Home | Dec 2013 | Secluded Suburban Property With this home, I partnered to design the initial architectural drawings and finishes. The open floor plan and abundant windows bring the outdoors in for spacious living. The family room has an Arts and Crafts influence incorporating comfortable, overstuffed upholstery the ultimate family abode. I updated the heavy floral curtains and lifeless furniture. The entertainment unit was custom made in the Arts and Crafts style to match the cocktail and end tables. The library?s masterpiece is the wall-to-wall, ceiling-to-floor built-in bookcases sheltering a window seat. Walking into the home, a carved solid oak door greets visitors with its beveled lead glass windows. The cool sea grass green walls continue up the oak staircase. The powder room off the kitchen has two-toned walls to bring depth to the small space. test. | $45k | North Royalton, OH
Indeo, CA Resort Property | Oct 2011 | Indio, California Resort This outdoor living space gained a stainless steel and granite outdoor kitchen built for a chef. Outdoor entertainment is a must - including comfortable seating, television and fireplace. The casita houses a kitchen with more stainless steel appliances and a contemporary bath. From paint to tile to upholstery, the look mixes with a traditional Mexican style to create the perfect Southern California atmosphere. Motorcoach Country Club. | $100m | Indio, CA
Professor's Home | Oct 2011 | This client likes plush upholstery for leisure but a modern design for looks. His hardwood floors stretch through nearly the entire home for a sleek look. Green-grey stone greets visitors in the foyer, along with custom wood balusters on the refinished oak stairs. The ethnic floor rug and stair runner soften up the entrance. The powder room continues the stone flooring, but the small space needed a simple design. The owner’s quirky artwork gives humor to the clean-cut, drop-in sink. Unique accessories and lighting show an attention to detail and adds personality to the living room. Natural cherry tables, fireplace and bookcase surround luxurious furniture. The pedestal sink has its own towel bar for easy access. Halogen lights are brushed nickel and illuminate the low-ceiling room well. Intricate copper, grey and black tile graces the shower, along with more brushed nickel accents. The master bath’s larger space allowed for a large cherry cabinet. Blue tile pieces line the walls and the shower. Contemporary lights unify the modern theme. White subway tile with glass accents speak clean, sleek design. Gray-blue floor tile carries the feeling of the foyer. A modern cherry table with hidden leaf and blue stripe upholstered chairs add warmth. Brushed nickel lighting adds artistic flair. | $50k | University Hts, OH
Tuscan Style Home | Oct 2011 | I walked into this home to find what resembled a set from “That 70’s show.” Yellow-orange florals covered the walls, dark dreary cabinetry and outdated vinyl flooring incited claustrophobia. After nearly gutting the kitchen, 3 baths, dining room, family room, master suite, foyer and hallways, I transformed the house into a Tuscan style home. Now, a medallion tile design graces the stove, a butcher block countertop creates a great work space, and the antique finish on the new cabinets gives an old world feel to the kitchen. Custom hand-glazed tile in a radiant blue gives the bathroom a clean atmosphere. A floating cabinet allows for extra space both literally and visually. An added look is the sink that reaches beyond the counter for a deep-cut bowl. Warm golds and reds invite you into the bedroom, along with the plush frieze carpet and Tiffany inspired lighting. The in-law suite bath includes a shower fully tiled in tumbled stone, Roman style sconce lights and textured gold and crème art accessories that look straight out of Greece. | $40k | Highland Hts, OH |
