About 2 months ago, we hired AW to repair/restore our wooden front porch. We had stored some good boards under the porch just inside the hinged access (next to the driveway) for using at a later time. However, AW placed the hinged access on the other side of the porch, even though my husband requested that it remain on the driveway side. That was a mistake and we didn't catch it immediately. I noticed that the hinged side would not close properly and that is when my husband realized it was on the opposite side from where it was supposed to be. Upon opening, he noticed a lot of garbage wood under the porch. He also noticed that our good lumber stored there was missing. AW did not remove all the bad wood, left it under the porch (nails and all), and our good lumber disappeared. My 70 year old husband had to crawl under the porch to remove the garbage and fix the hinged side so that it would close. Our job may not have been the biggest, most expensive, but it was very important to us and we paid for it in more ways than one. Be very careful who you hire and don't let them leave without checking their work, or lack thereof, carefully. Now, we have to go and buy lumber to do the project for which our missing lumber was intended and the access to beneath our porch is now on the wrong side. This is definitely not a very professional way to conduct business and we are sorely disappointed.
