Established in 1973, Schmidt Construction is a general contracting business that excels in two main areas: IKEA kitchens and Retaining walls We are known for our IKEA kitchens. In our kitchens we do remodeling, cabinet assembly, and contractor services. Other contractor services include bathrooms, basements, home additions, decks. We pride ourselves in our retaining walls. With our walls we make your yards attractive, usable, and much more easy to manage. We build walls at any height and length to meet your desires, but with a specific method so that they will also be standing decades from now. We take pride in what we do because our jobs are not merely reflections of our skill, but evidence of why we work. We are motivated by the satisfaction that comes from our work when it turns your ideas into reality, is done right, and will be standing for decades to come. Our goal as a company is to first listen to our costumers, and then make what they imagined a reality.

  | Tara's Kitchen | Dec 2014 | Complete Kitchen Remodel. We were fortunate to work for Tara and Bret on this project. Tara has a great eye for colors and design, and she knows what she wants. The job was a partnership with daily communication. The result a beautiful and usable kitchen. We customized the kitchen to fit what Bret and Tara wanted. We changed the hinges on the trash cabinet doors so they would tilt out instead of swinging open. Tara also wanted the microwave and a few appliances to be in a cabinet, and not visible. We recessed the microwave into the wall in order to get our depth in a 12" cabinet. Project was complete remodel including some sub floor replacement and finish paint. Ceramic tile was laid diagonally. We use IKEA cabinetry because they create beautiful, usable spaces. Features include fully extending drawers to access all 24" of depth, soft closing doors and drawers, pantry cabinet with pullouts, a lazy susan wall cabinet, and a pull-out corner base cabinet. We have really enjoyed seeing the result of our labor. Our satisfaction comes from taking the ideas of our customers and making them a reality. | $22k | Omaha, NE |

We accomplished this look and added a custom barnwood wall with a iron hand rail at the entrance. We also installed a screen door pantry using IKEA's pull-out baskets.
