Shame, shame on him. In my opinion it is the worst kind of person that would take a large amount of money in advance from a couple (my parents whom are 79 and 76 years old), then not complete any work and stop responding to our calls/texts/emails. The worst kind of person is one that takes advantage of elderly people. I want everyone to be aware of this. I would not recommend him at all. Shame on him. I will put my experience out there everywhere I can ,to warn others.

I hired Joseph to complete a pantry remodel. Simply replacing single wire shelves with wood l-shaped floating shelves. He assured me during our initial phone conversation that he could do it. I sent him inspiration photos from Pinterest of what I wanted. He came to my home, took measurements, later provided a free-hand rendering. After some adjustments, I approved and paid a $200 deposit. He began the build at his location and planned to install within a week. He sent photos of the progress and they were horrible, I felt like I made a big mistake hiring and paying him. He was actually constructing the L-Shaped shelves (already attached) without framing for support, using 3/4 plywood. After expressing my concerns and explaining that he should be constructing the framing and attaching the shelves during the install and providing him a YouTube video, Joseph vowed to make it right. A week later he sent new photos and it was much better. We planned for install at the end of the week. Then he asked for another $350. I agreed, and sent the funds that evening. I did not hear from Joseph again until I texted him the morning before the install day and he assured me that he would arrive by 8:30 am, stating that he likes to start early. The next morning at 8:30 Joseph had not arrived. I texted him and he called right away with an excuse. His table saw broke down the night before and he had to purchase a new one and was in the process of assembling it. He assured me he would arrive by 10:00 am. Joseph called at 10:38 with yet another excuse, he had been exposed to COVID-19 and would not be able to come for 10 days. He assured the he and his family were going to get tested at that moment and that he would forward the results. I did not hear from Joseph for 14 days and only because I texted him. He told me he was still under quarantine, he felt fine and asked if I wanted him to come the following week. I expressed that I had expected to him from him a week earlier with his test results and asked that he send a copy. He then told me he never got tested. I told him I could not allow him in my home without valid and recent test results. He said he would go right then, he didn't want to lose my business. I requested a full refund. He eventually agreed to give me a refund when a check cleared in 3 days. Today is that day I do not have my refund. I sent him a text requesting a full refund this morning and he never responded. Joseph is an insincere, dishonest thief. DO NOT HIRE THIS PERSON. IF YOU DO, DO NOT PAY ANYTHING UPFRONT AND GET PHOTOS BEFORE YOU PAY ANYTHING.
