We hired Donald Shaw (Colorado Outdoor Living And Landscaping LLC) to do some bathroom remodel items. Job was agreed upon with (THANK GOD) no money given but a signed contract. He was supposed to start today (9/20/21) at 7am. He finally made contact with me at 830 am saying he was to blame for no call no show. He said he would be at my home in 20 min. Well at 11am I sent him text messages, voicemail, email and message through messenger firing him for the job he failed to even start. I won’t recommend him to anyone, thank god we didn’t give him any money.

BEWARE: DONALD R. SHAW (Colorado Roots, LLC and Shaw Landscaping, LLC). This individual took a large sum of money from us as a down-payment to build a patio in our backyard. Two separate contracts were drawn up for the job and SHAW failed to ever start the job and has failed to reimburse our deposit (as was stipulated in the contract). We filed a small-claims suit and he failed to appear for the court-ordered mediation. Beyond the initial deposit expense, we have incurred additional (and ongoing) filing fees with the courts. Too late, we have discovered numerous on-line complaints against SHAW including with the Better Business Bureau (which gives him an ‘F’ grade). We will continue with our legal actions with the hopes of recouping our losses to DONALD R. SHAW.

My mother-in-law, a caretaker for people with disabilities who lives alone, hired Donald Shaw to do a fair amount of work at her place. After she gave him more than $1,700 to get started, he did one hour of work, then disappeared. She finally got him to agree to a refund, but he never provided it, and now he has stopped responding to her calls and texts. We are now working on a small claims case against him. His Better Business Bureau profile suggests this isn't the first time he's pulled this stunt. Beware!

We recently hired them to do a job. It did get done but with a lot of bumps in the road. The first problem was he was never on time or even close. That was the first red flag. When he finally did show up he had no tools or equipment for the job. One would think a owner would be more prepared for a job that was planned a week out. He didn’t have everything here until afternoon. So the first day was a bust. The second day no better. I had to give his crew a gas can so they could finish working because he was not here. He showed up for 2 hours to do one job and left again. His crew stayed until 8 at night waiting on him to return. After the job was “done” the control panel was not wired for all zones. Only has six out of the eight. Then when we finally got him back over here after multiple calls and texts we worked on it till midnight. Them most frustrating thing is the runaround with all the excuses. Never meet anyone with so many excuses. Had to call and text him with no response for hours. He was to come and blow out the system first thing in the morning. His exact words. Never seen him or heard from him. So I am fixing all the messed up stuff. I’m done with him. He will give you a warranty but you can’t get anything fixed under it cuz he will not show. So if you want a half done project and you would like to finish it he is your man. If not don’t hire him.
