Before we signed the contract and made the initial deposit, they called us or e-mailed us pretty much daily to initiate the contract. Then after the initial payment we heard nothing from them and had to reach out to make the contacts with them. It was finally agreed that they would start the project the 1st week of May, and Paul and Krystle both stated that the project would not take over 10 days to two weeks. They both knew that our daughter was getting married on May 26th and that the project needed to be complete well before the wedding. When May got here and we had not heard from them early that week, we reached out and they came and demoed the bathroom at the end of that week. After that, we had a worker here intermittently and irregularly over the next 7 weeks. Obviously, it was not done before the wedding. My entire house was a construction zone for that event and I retreated to the hotel. Workers were not supervised and we never saw or heard from Paul or Krystle during the project. The workers left the bathroom and master bedroom as a total mess leaving trash everywhere. After no workers for a week, they started working again and sent us a statement requesting additional payment as they were "90%" through. My husband contacted Paul and told him we needed more work and an exact completion date before we would be making another payment. They sent a crew and finally got a lot done in one day and Paul and Krystle came by at the end of the day (on Wednesday) to look at the project and stated that they would be complete on Friday, which was totally realistic if they continued to send a crew for a full days work the next 2 days. However, after we made the payment, they vanished again. After that they showed up one day a week and would do one or two small projects. I assumed they were doing that so that they were not "abandoning" the project. During this whole project, I pretty much texted and/or e-mailed them daily when they did not show up. Sometimes they responded, sometimes they didn't. Finally, Paul and a helper came and cleaned the trash in the bedroom and Paul was in the process of installing all the plumbing and said that before he left he would finish everything except the installation of the mirrors and shower door and that someone would be there to do that on Saturday. I had to go back to work and when I got home, Paul had left without finishing. The hardware and rods were left in the bathroom but not installed. The faucets and shower head were attached but the plumbing under the sink was not done. They left the overfilled, busting at the seams, and too heavy trash bags in the bedroom. That was the last work that was done. On Sunday, June 24th, I drove to the showroom expecting to see that it was locked up and abandoned, but it was still there and Krystle and Paul were there as well. I spoke to Krystle and asked her when they were going to complete the project. She said, let me ask Paul, went to the back room and came back and said Tuesday or Wednesday. I told her it needed to be Tuesday because we had another project on Wednesday and she said OK. They never came again or reached out to us. My husband sent them an e-mail that next week ending our relationship. We cleaned the bedroom and bathroom. After shampooing the bedroom carpet, it was revealed that the carpet has streaks that have been bleached into it from the construction debri that tore through the cheap plastic they had put down and grout tore through and ground into the carpet. One of the light fixtures that they installed in the bathroom has a broken globe. The plumbing under the sinks was not connected. The paint job on the walls was just "OK" and needed some touch-up. The towel rods and knobs were left in the bathroom so we did have them, but needed to install them. We never received the mirrors or shower door so they had to be purchased and installed. We had paid for 95% of the project. I'm assuming that they have shut down this business, but they will probably move on and try to do business under another name, so beware of Krytle's Kitchen and Bath or Paul and Krystle Barboza doing business under another business name as well.
