Wine Armoire (Up-Cycled from a computer armoire)

Jul 2013

Up-cycled pine computer armoire to wine armoire. This is a classic ugly duckling story. The pine cabinet was originally designed for a desktop computer. I had purchased it for my son several years before, after changing to a laptop it was no longer needed. I/we believe in saving green; the planet and the bank account. I had been looking at wine armoirs and decided to turn this from computer to wine. After all which is needed more after a long day? The cabinet was painted in a copper patina faux finish with french script added to the face of the doors as well as embossed fleur-de-lys. Then the outside of the cabinet was finished off with a faux copper finish on wooden rope trim and french appliques to the 4 corners. Now on to the inside, the doors (inside) were painted with black chalk paint to add a favorite quote or leave a note to remember to grab a bottle of wine :) Wine glass holders were made with wine corks as the center and placed in the upper left side. Then wine racks added to the right side to hold 6 bottles. There is an area at the bottom for additional bottles if needed. The original pull out for the keyboard was left to use as an additional space to place a tray to prepare glasses for company or yourself so decor/items on the shelf can be left undisturbed.
