SALT Light and Electric

Had Salt and Light come out and was initially turned off by their scheduler Bo's approach, but still agreed to let them come out to "quote". Needed 2 ballasts replaced (hardware cost is $20ea), qualified electrician showed up, very professional. $79 show up fee and $194 installation fee per ballast. After discount, $407 for litterally 30 minutes of work (after "discount".) Shop elsewhere. Quality service but ridiculous prices. They wouldnt estimate ballast replacement cost on phone so they could get trip fee and ultimately the total business (under premise of 100% satisfaction).

Contacted thru Home Advisor to fix a front porch light-they called & came out the same day. Advised that $79 was only the trip charge. Technician advised when he arrived that the $79 included a full diagnostic inspection which I hadn't requested but agreed to let him do. Turns out that inspection is to sell home surge protection which I wasn't interested in. When we finally got to the matter of my porch light, he told me he would charge $91 to install a light fixture-the fixture was already there & he hadn't even diagnosed the problem yet but it was $91 in addition to the trip charge. I should have just paid the trip charge but he was there so I let him look at the fixture. He didn't seem to know that the power needed to be turned off or anything about dusk to dawn attachments which was odd. Turns out a loose wire was all that was wrong. He seemed like more of a salesman than an electrician. My bad for putting faith in online reviews -would not hire again.
