IBM Construction

We contracted with Mike Robinson with IBM Construction in the Philadelphia, PA area. Mike represented himself as an established contractor with significant experience, and was an acquaintance of our local Field Partner. Mike’s responsibility was to complete extensive rehab on a single family residence over approximately 5 to 6 month time span. The project included HVAC, flooring, drywall, framing, electrical, and stucco work on the exterior. Mike and his company made promises all along that they could complete the work on time. His reporting has been inadequate, and as it turns out, deceitful, as he misused money, requested a loan from us to complete the project, that he would repay, and has now gone missing. We have been unable to reach him for over three weeks despite numerous attempts to make contact. The stucco work looks terrible, the furnace and HVAC work, some flooring issues, finish work in several rooms, have all been left in partially finished state, despite him telling us that he was 95% done with the project. We estimate that it is going to cost us tens of thousands of dollars in additional costs to complete the work. We are pursuing legal action due to the huge loss that this has caused us.
